Kedarnath sits at roughly 3,580m in the Garhwal Himalayas, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines to Shiva and part of the Char Dham circuit. The temple is reached from Gaurikund on foot, by pony, or by helicopter for the final stretch, at a pace kept deliberately slow for older pilgrims.
